Because to me it’s like missing the plane….or if you don’t do planes, it’s like missing the bus! It’s like taking a trip, and having a very important meeting on the destination side and then falling asleep in the lounge and missing the boarding call.
It’s like missing a great opportunity for outreach to your potential clients ….and I see it over and over again. UUUGGGH!
So heads up my biz buddies, here’s the thing….you want to place links whenever you place images...because you want to use every opportunity to make a CTA (Call To Action).
And that’s not all…if you use a description for your images…you want to place the link first in the description….Why? Because most posts only display “teaser text”; that’s the first few words of the post. If you create a description with more than just a few words, and then place the link at the end…. then the reader needs to click the “more” button to see the link, but why take a chance? The key to getting people to take action is to make it as easy as possible for them!
And one more thing….be sure the link points to the VERY NEXT ACTION that you want your reader to take! For example, if you are promoting a limited time, special offer, be sure your link points DIRECTLY to that offer….if the link goes to your main Web page, with a hope and a prayer that they will FIND the offer … it’s counter-productive. Point your link to what you mean and mean what you point your link to!!
So there it is in 3 steps:
· Create Links for your Images
· Be sure the Links appear in the “Teaser Text”
· Be sure the Links Points to the NEXT ACTION you want your audience to take!
Follow these 3 rules on a consistent basis and watch your Social Network Connections convert into database assets!
