Small business owners nationwide are increasingly optimistic about their sales and profits amid benefits from lower energy prices and growing enthusiasm about the U.S. economy, according to the new PNC Economic Outlook survey findings. - Stuart G. Key Findings:
PNC's Spring 2015 Economic Outlook survey of small and mid-sized business owners nationwide shows an increasingly positive outlook for their company and the highest optimism about the U.S. economy since 2007. Eighty-three percent are optimistic about their company's prospects — with 57% expecting an increase in sales and 51%, also the most since 2007, anticipating profits to go up.

The survey, which gauges the mood and sentiment of small and mid-sized business owners, found that 70% are optimistic about the U.S. economy during the next six months – a significant lift from 58% six months ago. Lower energy prices are expected to have a positive impact on profitability and on sales.
Focus on Cash Flow and Efficiency:
Forty-three percent expect their cash flow to increase in the next six months. Over half (55%) say they manage cash closely and are aware of cash flow on a daily basis. Further, 72% verify that business decisions are made according to cash flow forecasts.
