I shared with him the 2nd definition of noun "commitment", but I had to be honest and admit that I’d never really spent a lot of time relating the word “commitment” to the “restriction of freedom”. It's a sobering thought.
For example In my goal to become more physically fit, I needed to relinquish the freedom to eat anything and everything I desired, any time and every time I desired it!
Likewise, if you are building a database fit for business, you will need to spend time creating the foundation...you'll start to become selective with what you put in your database....and that will take commitment. Here are three energy packed tidbits to snack on, for strengthening your commitment:
1. Content is King. You’ve heard that phrase a zillion times…and it is as true as the first time you heard it.
It will take time to create compelling content …or if you are not a prolific writer, it will take money to hire a content writer. Check out the DonPaul business directory. Just enter the keyword in the category menu.
If hiring a writer does not fit into your budget, connect with me and I’ll share with you some other ways that you can build powerful and attractive content. Your commitment to quality content will boost your database metabolism!
2. Offers are a great way to attract new clients/customers/members…. and it takes time to create the proper offers. Some if the variables revolve around the type of product or service you provide and the flexibility you have to maintain your earnings. Before you make an offer, develop your plan in writing; Why are you making the offer? What are you going to offer? To whom are you specifically making your offer? How long will your offer be available? Where will you promote your offer…. Web only, hard copy fliers, social media, TV, Radio….? I think you get the point; creating, marketing, managing and monitoring your offer will take time and commitment. If you are looking for new ideas for an offer, let's network and brainstorm.
3. A Blog can be bloody beautiful! You probably know enough about blogs by now to know that they are great tools to help you accomplish both of the tasks above as well as provide many benefits all of their own.
What you also want to take into consideration is the time that it takes to create great content for your blog or to create whatever you plan to use in the blog as a tool of attraction for your database. A few words of caution….creating a blog and letting it get old and stale can negatively affect your company image…. so where-in the rewards can be great …commitment is enormously important.... but don't let it stop you...you've got help.
So there you have some of the hard facts.... You must first accept (and embrace) the sacrifice of either time or money or both, in order to meet your goals. Then create a plan, a written plan of the ways you can build interaction with your audience. Focus on one activity at a time, and master it.
Soon, you will see and feel your level of commitment growing. Enjoy your success and don’t forget to connect with me if you need one-on-one advice on strengthening your commitment to build your database.
